Poken could be huge, but it will take some time

Back in the day, I used to have a Palm Pilot and I loved it. One of the many functions I especially appreciated about it was how easy it was to exchange business cards with someone. If they had a Palm Pilot, we could VERY easily beam our credentials to one another and be about our business. Simple, quick and convenient. Recently, I have come across a second incarnation of this functionality in a device called - Poken. (NO, not Pokemon! Poken.)
Poken is a gadget that you keep on yoru keychain, backpack, hanging from your beltbuckle, or whatever. If you see someone else with a Poken, you touch their Poken with your Poken and presto-change-o, you have exchanged business cards and links to your social network profiles on LinkedIn and Facebook and (presumably) other social networks over time.
Hmm… what to do, what to do?
I would suggest picking a college party, actually a lot of college parties, no… create a series of exclusive parties/networking events and give Pokens away along with cool “grungy” tee-shirts. Take a ton of pictures of people sporting your t-shirt and the Pokens then seed them all over Flickr. Take lots of videos where people are connecting thanks (in no small part) to your Poken device. Spread these videos all over the web. (TubeMogul may come in handy for this.)
Once that’s done, contact Vloggers (umm… like me and Jake) and get us to chat about your product. As soon as a Vlogger shows you love, get a small army to bookmark it on various social bookmarking sites and leave comments on top blogs referencing the videos. Hope for the best.
I hope this advice proves useful.
